Ida, the nurse of an infant Zeus, wanted to soothe his crying so pricked her finger with the raspberry thorns and the fruit turned a blood-red colour. In reality, Raspberries are a member of the Rose family, and like Roses come in a variety of colours including purple, black and yellow.
